The goal of the AODCJF Technical Committee is to:

“Make available, as OGC compliant web services, key datasets from each of the AODCJF agencies to the Oceans Portal and to facilitate the development of a marine catalogue and the standards and elements that underpin the catalogue.”

The initial focus of the Technical Committee is to set up a national network of data providers and a central catalogue to allow the exchange of data between the agencies and other external parties.

The Technical Committee has established working groups to facilitate the technical implementation of a distributed data network. These working groups are adressing specific issues related to the implementation of the Oceans Portal:

• Marine Metadata
  
• Symbology
  
• NetDDF/OPeNDAP interoperability
